Manohar Joshi, passed away today at the age of 86. Manohar Joshi, was the former Chief Minister of Maharashtra.

Manohar Joshi the former Chief Minister of Maharashtra: He had been admitted to PD Hinduja Hospital after a cardiac arrest on February 21 and, unfortunately, did not recover. He was hospitalized in last year in may month due to brain hemorrhage.

Family sources mentioned that the funeral will take place later in the day at Dadar Shivaji Park Crematorium with full state honors. his son Unmesh shared, “He had been in the ICU and was under observation. He suffered from cardiac arrest on Wednesday.  Given his prolonged age-related health problems, we will be performing the last rites at Shivaji Park crematorium, and before that, his mortal remains will be brought to our house in Matunga.”

The hospital had previously given a statement about Joshi’s condition, stating, on 21 February 2024  “Mr. Manohar Joshi was admitted at Hinduja Hospital. He is in the ICU under close observation and receiving the best medical care and treatment.”

Manohar Joshi had a significant political career.

1. He had served as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra from 1995 to 1999.

2. Lok Sabha Speaker from 2002 to 2004.

3.Rajya Sabha Member from 2006 to 2012. 

4. He had worked in Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises from 1999 to 2002.

Several political leaders paid tribute to Manohar Joshi. Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis stated about Joshi’s contributions to society, politics, and education. Deputy CM Ajit Pawar expressed sorrow over the loss of a leader fighting for the rights of Marathi people. Former Union minister Sharad Pawar remembered Joshi as a straightforward leader who worked diligently for the development of Maharashtra.

The death of Manohar Joshi marks a significant loss in the political, social, and educational sectors of Maharashtra. many political leaders expressed their condolences to joshi’s family.
