UPPSC Eligibility Criteria 2024

The UPPSC Eligibility Criteria 2024 takes into account a candidate’s education qualification, age, nationality, and physical fitness. For this exam, candidates should be between 21 to 40 years old, holding a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a specific field for eligibility. The UPPSC exam comprises three stages: Preliminary, Mains, and Interview.


For higher positions in the UPPSC exam, candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree from any reputable university; the percentage is not a determining factor. Final-year students are also eligible to apply, but they need to submit a detailed application form (DAF) and a self-attested certificate during the submission, specifically for the UPPSC main exam.

UPPSC Mains Exam Syllabus


General Studies Paper 1

  • History of Culture, covering art forms, literature, and architecture from ancient to modern times.
  • Modern Indian History (1757 AD to 1947 AD): Important events, personalities, issues, etc.
  • Freedom Struggle: Phases and significant contributors from various parts of the country.
  • Post-Independence Consolidation and Reorganization (up to 1965)
  • Global events from the 18th to the mid-20th century, like the French Revolution, Revolutions, World Wars, etc.

This continues for General Studies Paper 2, Paper 3, and Paper 4, covering topics such as Indian Constitution, Economic Planning, Science and Technology, and Ethics and Human Interface.
